What Is Financial Domination- And What It Isn’t

Over the last several years the popularity of financial domination or “findom” has skyrocketed. Like anything that grows quickly this has led to a lot of misconceptions and falsehoods being perpetuated from dominants and submissives alike. Today I am here to set the record straight once and for all!

What is Financial Domination?

Financial domination is a relationship between a dominant and a submissive where the submissive gives gifts and money to their dominant. They may also give up complete financial control to their dominant, only recieving a small allowance each month and letting their dom take care of setting up bill payments, etc.

In most of these relationships there is no sexual exchange, although there may be humiliation involved. While some findom relationships have sexual aspects, it is not the norm nor is it the focus.

What Financial Domination is Not

I can’t even count the number of times someone has found out that I sell content, do phone sex, or offer paid sexting sessions and their response is “I’m not into findom”. It seems like these days any exchange of money is perceived as findom, but this is false.

Here are some things that are NOT financial domination:

  • Paying for someone’s time
  • Paying for photos and videos
  • A one off tip or tribute
  • Any interaction where you have not confirmed that it is findom

Am I a Findom?

I am not a findom. I have dabbled in it in the past, and found that it wasn’t for me. I may accept financial submissives in the future, but it would have to be the right person. For now, the murky waters surrounding findom attracts a type that is not for me, I prefer to keep everything a clear business transaction.
